East Grinstead Pop-up Santa’s Grotto

During the six weeks running up to Christmas, East Grinstead Lions Club and their volunteers had a very busy time indeed.

On Saturday 23^rd December they were due to have their Pop-up Santa’s Grotto and Xmas merchandise stall at the very popular town’s Big Reveal event. The weather was atrocious all day and the Town Council cancelled any outside stalls and attractions. However, the children were saved from disappointment by the generosity of the Martell family, who at late notice, created a magical Grotto for Santa and his elves in their store. Santa was kept busy non-stop for two and a half hours with over 100 children coming along to see him!

The Xmas sales team and other stall holders were re-located to St Swithun’s church and were able to continue their sales there. Christmas sales of EG Lions Prize Advent Calendars, Xmas cards and raffle tickets continued during the month at numerous Xmas Fairs and at their stall on certain days in the town.
