On Sunday 28th July Tonbridge Lions Club held their ever-popular annual Classic Car Tour to raise money for local charities and good causes. This year the Club are supporting BABONS, a Cancer Support Charity based in Tonbridge. The Mayor of Tonbridge and Malling, Councillor Steve Hammond started all 46 cars from Tonbridge School. The vehicles were a varied cross section of classic models spanning over 90 years.

In perfect weather the route passed through the pretty lanes and villages of Kent, with lunch laid on at Howfield Manor Hotel, Chartham Hatch near Canterbury. After lunch the classic cars returned by a different route back to Tonbridge School, to be welcomed home by Lion President Phil Jesson followed by a delicious Cream Tea.

Chairman of the organising committee, Lion Mike Edwards said “This was the tenth year we have held the event. We had a glorious sunny day and the feedback from the participants was very complimentary”.

Tonbridge Lions Club would like to thank Hadlow Stair Garage and Sevens & Classics Ltd for providing sponsorship for the event.
