Uckfield Classic car show on the 6/7/24 started with a short drive from T R Fastening car park on the Bell brook estate, up the High Street turning on to Library way then onto Luxford field. 

The parade was led by Steam engine Saturn, much to the delight of the Saturday morning shoppers, from Luxford field a toot toot was heard, followed by a cloud of steam rising above the roof tops in High street, Saturn was followed by a well turned out lorry owned by T Robinson of Sussex.  The only thing missing from Postman Pat post office van, was his Black and White cat, with the rear of the van being full of post office memorabilia. 

Uckfield Mayor Karen Bedwell along with Deputy Spike Mayhew, and Town crier Ian Bedwell attended the Lions event and Karen and Ian where able to sit in a Bentley, but only after the owner had removed the keys. 

Luxford field proved to be a good space to hold the event with room for vehicles to safely move around, and for the many people that came along to view. 

There was a charge of ten pounds per vehicle, with profits from this event being donated to the Canine partners, who were present on the field along with a Flat coated Retriever Warwick, despite now being retired from being an assistance dog  ,Warwick spent the morning showing off his skills to see read more about canine partners go to www.caninepartners.org.uk/findoutmore.  Also money will be donated to Blood bikers www.bloodbikers.org.uk . Blood bikers are used to transport blood bags around the country for emergency use. 

At the July business meeting it was agreed to top up the profit from from the car event and a donation of £750 to both Canine partners and Blood bikers.  One of Uckfield lions commented that the assistance dog Warwick had spent most of his day trying to rescure the dummy from under the post van.

Then on Sunday the 7th July it was time for changeover, with outgoing president Terry Mason presenting the  Chain of office to Frank Phillips for his second term of office at a Buffett lunch held in one of the members homes.
