Woking Lions stage outstanding Netball Event

An enjoyable day was spent by over 120 spectators and players participating in Woking Lions’ netball tournament held at the Eastwood Leisure Centre in Woking on Sunday 23 June.  The event hosted 10 netball teams competing in hot summer sunshine.  Medals were presented by the Lions’ president, Reg Fianu, the winning team being ‘Netball Ends’​

The day was organised by Lions Emma and Nella with Josie Bush, all members of the Woking Play Netball Club. Local businesses offered generous prizes for the raffle. ​

Net proceeds of £1,070 were raised for local people in need.  Emma said ‘We had great feedback from those who attended and hope to add this to Woking Lions’ calendar every year.  We would also like to thank the players, businesses, spectators and volunteers who made it a wonderful fundraising event’.​
