Rainbows can now fly their flag

As we have donated funds so that they can have their own unit flag and leather holster which they can now carry at Church parades, the Remembrance Day parade and other events.

The presentation was made by PP Pam Edwards and Community Service lead Sue Saunders. Pam said "It was such a special afternoon with this lively group of children who are aged 5 to 7. They thanked us by singing their own Unit song, which was amazing."

Sue commented " Rainbows is all about developing self-confidence, building friendships, learning new things and having fun. The girls get their hands dirty with arts and crafts, trying out cooking , playing games and other activities. We are delighted to support them and look forward to seeing them proudly parade their flag."

Lions roam Hastings Old Town

Club members and friends enjoyed a conducted tour of the ancient Cinque Port.

It started with a fascinating insight into the history of the fishing quarter and community, attempts to create a lasting harbour and how if a fishing boat owner was caught smuggling, his boat was cut in half! The tour then meandered through the Old Town, along twittens and cat creeps to show the wealth of historic buildings, architectural styles and intriguing histories.

We returned to the Fishing Museum to conclude the tour. Then up a few steps to The Dolphin Inn to enjoy a well earned lunch.A great way to spend a Saturday morning and many thanks to Margaret and Susan for organising another enjoyable social event.

Photo competition winner

Congratulations to Loki, a 4 year old Beagle and owner Dani . A hamper full of doggie treats was presented to Dani for getting the most FB "likes" in our Dog Show photo competition.

Pamper Time

Some of our members and friends enjoyed a pamper afternoon organised by Dawn and Alison. Head, neck, shoulder and foot massages were very popular. There was advice on healthy hair and skin, what products to avoid and what best to use. Dawn commented " I thoroughly enjoyed preparing the products and sharing the background and vision as to why I created them. It was a joy to see the enthusiasm for the products and the success of collaborating with Alison on my first project with the club."

Zone Olympics

We scuttled over to Hailsham to take part in the final round of the competition, a beetle drive.

Before the "Battle of the Beetles" we enjoyed a fish and chip supper..

Having then mastered the anatomy of the beastie and that you need a body before getting eyes, we entered into the fast paced rounds. At the end, we came out the winners. A really well organised and fun evening. Thank you Hailsham Lions.

Lion Graham organised an excellent Zone BBQ at which ZC Roger announced that Bexhill had won the Zone Olympics and presented Richard with the Zone Olympics Shield.
