The Methodist Church in Tonbridge was brimming with festive cheer on December 14th as a packed house gathered for the annual Christmas concert by the Musical Memories Sing-A-Long Choir. On Saturday 18th January, it was lovely to see 160 guests enjoying themselves at the East Grinstead Lions Club tea party and social event. The event was supported by volunteers from Being Neighbourly, lively MC Hilary, David Kent (who organised the entertainment) the St John Ambulance team and many wonderful volunteers who helped make the afternoon such a success. The Lions held their last quiz of the year for the Canterbury Foodbank, in recognition of the service they provide to the local community. The Lions have a long history of support for the Foodbank and there was a warm welcome for all the members of their teams who joined in the quiz, which raised a total of £1,250. Read more
Over the past six months we have developed a strong working relationship with the local Unit which has helped the club on numerous occasions, with enthusiasm and a very professional approach. Their efforts have been much appreciated by the club. Read more

Last year we planted saplings in a small coppice in Collington woods. Weeds and brambles were now starting to smother them, so a working party spent a morning, helped by members of Marine training Corps - Bexhill/Sidley Cadets, to clear the area. Read more
Each year, Whitstable and Herne Bay Lions are invited to Meadow Grange Garden Centre and Farm Shop, where a wonderful grotto is awaiting Father Christmas and his helpers ( yes, they are all Lions members) Meadow Grange provide the gifts, which are wrapped by the Lions (1,000 this year), who are rewarded (bribed?) with lots of cake and coffee. Once again Guildford Lions Club’s Firework Fiesta was enjoyed by 8,000 local people. On a dry November evening there was plenty to entertain the audience for over two hours, even before the fireworks started. Read more
